Committee Vote LOST

The Senate Foreign Relations Committee voted to approve the Law of the Sea Treaty. The vote was 17-4. All the democrats and six Republicans voted in favor. Four Republicans (Vitter, DeMint, Coleman, Isakson) voted no.

The treaty now heads to the full Senate, where it must receive a 2/3 vote to be ratified. The Senate Republican leadership (McConnell, Lott, Kyl, Ensign) have come out against LOST, so there is a real chance to stop it.
