About half of the $650,000 price tag for the work came from a Michigan Department of Transportation grant, with another $100,000 from WMU and $25,000 from K-College.Apparently these organizations' finances aren't as bad off as they claim.
Other donors included the Kalamazoo Community Foundation and the Irving S. Gilmore Foundation. The city of Kalamazoo provided engineering services for the project.
