Why should the government not intervene to help people who are dying from drug addiction because someone finds selling drugs a more convenient way to make a living? If it does that, why shouldn't it also assist people who are dying as a result of gun violence since someone saw that option as a more convenient way to settle a dispute? If it does that, why shouldn't it help all people who are dying because of a lack of medical care? If it does that...well, you probably get the point.

Your comment is well taken but it simply proves Giuliani's point. Any decision on where and when government should involve itself is completely arbitrary and there is seldom reason why we should favor once instance over another.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22328391.post-15405960751953989072007-05-16T15:38:00.000-04:002007-05-16T15:38:00.000-04:00I would like to comment. Abortion is murder, and if there is anything that government should be getting involved in, it's protecting human life from those that would choose to destroy it for nothing other than convenience.A.J.https://www.blogger.com/profile/11066306250335250019noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22328391.post-30646552184715855072007-05-16T12:32:00.000-04:002007-05-16T12:32:00.000-04:00"There are people, millions and millions of Americ..."There are people, millions and millions of Americans, who are of as good conscience as we are, who make a different choice about abortion. And I think in a country where you want to keep government out of people’s lives, you have to respect that." -- former New York City Mayor and Republican Presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani.

Interesting point.
